Drawing with Thread: A One-Day Workshop with Harriet Riddell

This is an intimate workshop, with space to work closely and ask questions throughout the day.

You’ll learn my approach to free-motion stitching, using the sewing machine as a drawing tool rather than aiming for perfection. The focus is on confidence, expression, and letting go of rigid techniques.

By the end of the day, you will have created your own one-line abstract stitched portrait and explored raw edge appliqué to capture a real flower. You will also leave with a process you can continue at home.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with sewing experience who want to work more freely.
